Safety first with our dog car seats

Is your dog's safety your number one priority? Then our dog car seats are just the thing for you! The dog basket for the car provides a safe place during every car journey. In addition to safety, the dog car seat also ensures that your dog can sit and sleep comfortably during every journey.

The dog basket for the car is equipped with multiple attachment points to ensure safety:

1. Adjustable safety belt: The dog car seat includes an adjustable safety belt with a large buckle. This belt can be easily fastened behind the back of the car seat. This ensures that the car basket remains firmly in place and cannot slide forward when braking.
2. Non-slip underside: The underside of the dog car seat is fitted with non-slip material, which provides extra grip and prevents the dog car seat from sliding on the car seat.
3. Two Safety Belts: For your dog's safety, the dog car seat includes two safety belts. You can attach these directly to the strap harness or harness.

An added bonus: Do you have two dogs? Depending on their size, they can also travel comfortably together in the dog car seat. This does, of course, depend on the size of the two small dogs. Our own 5.5 kg dachshunds fit together in the standard dog car seat.

Finally, the dog car seat protects the upholstery from hair and dirt.

The right size dog car seat

We offer dog car seats in two different sizes:

• Dog car seat
  Our standard car seat is suitable for small to small-medium dogs with a maximum back length and shoulder height of approximately 48 cm.
• Dog car seat XL
  The XL dog car seat is suitable for medium to large dogs. This car seat is used for Labradors and Golden Retrievers, for example.

Safety in the dog car seat

ALWAYS use the dog car seat in combination with a dog harness or strap harness.

The use of a harness or dog strap harness in the car is essential for safety and control, both for the dog itself and for the other passengers. If you do not use a dog car seat or dog car seat belt, your dog will be thrown forward with enormous force in the event of a collision or emergency stop. Therefore, never secure your dog with a normal collar in the car, as this can almost certainly cause serious injury to the neck or windpipe in the event of an emergency stop.

More than just a dog car seat

Our dog basket for the car is multifunctional. You can use the dog car seat as a basket for the car, but you can also use it as a basket for holidays or at home. Simply unzip the front of the dog car seat and your four-legged friend will have extra space to stretch out and sleep.

Is a dog car seat mandatory?

In the Netherlands and Belgium, dog car seats are not required by law, but animals must not pose a danger while driving. A loose dog in the car can pose a life-threatening situation in the event of an emergency stop. It is therefore strongly recommended that you secure your dog safely in a car seat or with a dog seat belt.

Can the dog car seat be washed?

The dog car seat can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. This makes the car seat easy to keep clean. Is the dog bed very dirty? Then it can be washed in the washing machine.

Please follow our instructions carefully. We advise against washing the car seat in the washing machine too often. Follow the steps below to wash the car seat in the washing machine:

1. Detach the adjustable strap.
2. Remove the loose cushions from the dog car seat. These cannot be washed, but they can be aired out.
3. Close all zips and place the cover in a laundry bag.
4. Use mild detergent or special detergent for outdoor fabrics to keep the car seat waterproof.
5. Select a short or outdoor wash programme – maximum one hour.
6. Wash the car seat cover at a maximum of 30 degrees.
7. Is the washing machine ready? Let the car seat cover dry in a shady place. When the outside of the car seat cover is dry, turn it inside out. You will notice that the inside can still be wet.
8. The car seat must NOT be placed in the dryer!
